Why would I choose a nursing home (skilled nursing facility) for long-term care versus an assisted living facility (CBRF or RCAC)?

As a skilled nursing facility, Dove Healthcare - West is able to admit and retain residents with multiple diagnoses requiring licensed nurse assessment and supervision. Due to state regulations and the employment of non-licensed care staff, assisted living facilities are unable to provide this service. You can feel confident knowing the nursing professionals at Dove Healthcare - West not only uphold practice guidelines but make an extra effort to provide exceptional, compassionate care. You will also benefit from the professional services provided by our caring team members in recreation, rehabilitation, social, and nutritional services.

Maintain your highest level of ability and independence.

Specially trained, certified nursing assistants work directly with licensed nurses and licensed therapists to ensure you reach your highest level of functioning in activities of daily living. Together, they create a restorative program specifically designed with your goals in mind. Restorative aides encourage and assist you with functional activities, which may include exercises, stretching, walking, gait training, range of motion, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and dining.

There are many ways to pay for your care.

Both Dove Healthcare - South and West offer Transitions Rehabilitation and accept insurance, private pay, and Medicare. Dove Healthcare - West is also certified for Medicaid and accepts payment from Community Health Partnership and Veterans Administration.

End-of-Life Care

We believe that end-of-life care should be dignified, comfortable, and peaceful. Our goal for your loved one is to manage their symptoms, reduce pain, provide spiritual support, and ultimately improve quality of life. Our focus is on caring for the person, not curing the disease. We understand the need for privacy during end-of-life, and our private suites provide added comfort.

Ensure care not only for your loved one's physical needs, but their emotional and spiritual needs as well. Nathan Oldenkamp, Chaplain and our Regional Director of Spiritual Care, is also available to provide pastoral counseling, spiritual guidance, and opportunities for prayer for the entire family.

Need a Break?

Relieve a family caregiver from their responsibilities by receiving temporary care from our skilled nursing staff. Even with current daytime support in the form of home assistance or adult day programs, many families still have overnight responsibilities for their loved one that prevents them from ever really getting a break.

Dove Healthcare - West's respite care program allows family caregivers a well-deserved rest, vacation, and time to take care of themselves. Gain peace of mind, knowing your loved one is comfortable in a private room and receiving excellent care in a warm, respectful environment.

Transportation

For your safety and convenience, our handicapped accessible vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts and our transportation staff is First Aid and CPR certified. Our transportation services are available for outings, new admissions and medical appointments.
