The Dove's Nest

Mission Statement

To provide a caring, nurturing atmosphere to enhance the lives of our residents living with dementia.

The Dove’s Nest is a distinct “recreation suite” for residents with dementia. Daily programming and meals take place in a small-group environment which is conducive to their unique needs. Participation in the Dove’s Nest program has shown to reduce falls and behavioral concerns and residents with introverted personalities have become more involved in activities.

The Dove's Nest focuses on residents with:

Behavioral concerns

Introverted personalities

History of recurrent falls

Important features of the Dove's Nest include:

Maximum of eight participants, allowing more one-on-one attention

Participants have an opportunity to enjoy the Dove's Nest 12 hours a day, seven days a week

Consistent care from the same staff members

A quiet atmosphere for the residents to participate in structured small group activities
